Module 4

Summary: Chapter 9, 10, and 11 focus on different learning styles. Chapter 9 discusses Metacognition, learning strategies, and problem solving. Additionally, transfer is discussed as well as critical thinking and teaching for complex knowledge. In chapter 10, the author focuses primarily on cognitive and social constructivism. Additionally collaboration and cooperation, styles were discussed.

Reflection: I liked the activity of creating a concept map because It helped organize the key concepts of the chapter in a visual way. I thought the different cooperative learning styles were interesting.  I liked the jigsaw activity the most. I also thought it was interesting the way you assign roles in group work. For example I liked the idea of having the coach, taskmaster and checker. I think by assigning specific roles, it provides an opportunity for all students to be engaged.

  1. I agree that making the concept map helped visualize our ideas. I thought it provided a different perspective on studying and learning. I also like assigning roles in a group as well. Personally, my teachers have used different roles, and I found it to be less stressful knowing that the entire project wasn't on me, but on an entire group.
