Summary: Chapter 12, 14, and 15 were extremely detailed and I had to reread many portions of these chapters. Chapter 12 primarily discusses motivation, beliefs, and goals about learning in general. Chapter 14 discusses research behind teaching practices as well as different approaches. Chapter 15 discusses the different assessment types and grading practices. Reflection: Personally, I struggled with having to take a side in the extrinsic/ extrinsic debate for my research paper. I see value in both types of motivation in different areas of education. I almost feel that a balance is needed between external rewards and the intrinsic motivation to accomplish things. The researched practices on differentiation and Blooms Taxonomy were interesting and it really made me reflect on my own learning experience as a student.
